Founder and Director

Sharona holds a BA in Judaic Studies from Stern College and an MS in Jewish Education from Azrieli Graduate School, Yeshiva University.

Sharona was the first Orthodox woman to serve as a member of clergy as the first Congregational Intern and first Madricha Ruchanit at the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale, NY.

After making aliya in 2004, Sharona founded Torat Reva Yerushalayim, a non-profit organization based in Jerusalem which provides Torah study groups for students of all ages and backgrounds.

Sharona is a graduate of Matan’s Eshkolot Tanach program and Hilkheta, Matan’s  5 year Halacha fellowship. She completed a training course in mental health and halacha at Ma’aglei Nefesh.

Sharona is the author of Parsha Points: Torah from the Land of Israel and Parsha Points: More Torah from the Land of Israel. She writes a weekly blog on the Parsha for the Times of Israel.

Sharona has served as a scholar in residence in communities throughout North America and Israel.

Torat Reva Yerushalayim is named after Reva (Rivka Nechama Batsheva) Margolin, Sharona’s grandmother. Grandma Reva’s love of Torah study and commitment to Israel inspired Sharona to found this innovative program, one that enables Torat Yisrael and Gmilut Chasadim in Ertez Yisrael- Torah Study and acts of lovingkindness in the Modern State of Israel.
